Peanut Butter Power Balls

I don’t think this post requires much of an introduction. We all enjoy snacks, (seriously, if you don’t, who are you?!) and it would be pretty great if those snacks could actually be convenient and healthy. *side eyes every packaged snack ever*

Peanut butter lovers, I’ve got you covered. These balls are textured, refined sugar free, and packed with nuts, chia seeds and oats, which means that this snack is high in fibre, protein, and omega-3.

…and they taste delicious, without being overly sweet! Think: pre-workout snack. Post workout snack. Mid-afternoon snack. Tea-time snack. Anytime snack. Snacks for the week, snack. You get the gist!

In 3 simple steps, they can be yours, too 😉

Something tasty is about to happen!

List 1. What you’ll need to put into your food processor:

  • 2 cups rolled oats (sub. gluten free if desired)
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup dates
  • 1/3 cup raw almonds
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp salt

List 2. And later:

  • 3/4 cup peanut butter
  • 5 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence

Step 1: Place all ingredients from list 1 above, into your food processor and blend until roughly combined.

We do this so that the natural ingredients can be more easily transformed into balls, without losing the amazing texture that each ingredient contributes.

You should see something similar, after a few seconds in your processor.

Step 2: Remove mixture from the food processor and transfer to a large bowl. Add ingredients from list 2 above, and stir to combine.

Step 3: Let the fun begin! Time to get your hands involved to form treat sized balls. I didn’t actually roll these because of the texture. I scooped the mixture into my hand, squeezed it to combine, and then rounded the edges with my fingertips.

Super simple! This mixture makes approximately 25 balls, depending on the size.
